Project Crossfire Development Update | July 2026

The July development update introduces a redesigned server API, the first Banlist version with live actions, the new Sections system, Minecraft plugin, website and shop improvements, and further progress on our CS2 plugins.

Project Crossfire Development Update | July 2026

Hello,

after some time, we are back with another overview of what is currently happening around Project Crossfire.

Even though some changes may not be immediately visible, development is still moving forward. This time, we mainly focused on connecting the website with our game servers, improving our API, launching the first version of the Banlist, managing the individual sections of the project, improving the website, and continuing the development of our CS2 and Minecraft plugins.

Some of these features are still in testing or in an Alpha version, but we are gradually reaching the point where the individual parts of the project are beginning to work together as originally intended.

New and improved API for our servers

One of the most important changes is another major update to our API, which handles communication between the website and our game servers.

Our goal is to avoid storing sensitive information and important data directly on the game servers. Instead, the servers can securely retrieve the information they need from our central system.

The API is gradually being prepared for features such as:

• user and role management
• team member permissions
• Premium benefits
• bans and other punishments
• player settings for individual servers
• connecting website features with server plugins

This will allow us to manage the individual parts of the project from one place instead of configuring the same features separately on the website, CS2 servers, Minecraft servers, and other services.

There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but the new foundation is designed so that more features can be added gradually.

First version of the Banlist

We have also launched the first version of our Banlist.

The Banlist will provide an overview of punishments issued across our servers. Users and team members will be able to see who received a punishment, the reason for it, and how long it lasts.

The current version is still basic and will continue to be expanded. We plan to add more information, better filtering, detailed punishment pages, and additional tools for members of the administration team.

We do not want to create only a simple list of bans. Our goal is to build a system that can be used across the entire Project Crossfire platform.

First live actions through the Banlist

The Banlist is no longer limited to displaying information. We have also completed the first tests of live actions connected directly to a game server.

So far, we have mainly tested:

• banning a player
• kicking a player from the server

This means that an authorized team member can perform an action through our system, and the game server will then execute it.

This is still an early test version, so the entire system needs further security work, testing, and improvements. In the future, we plan to add more actions, a better command history, and more detailed control over who can use each function.

New Sections feature

We have added a new feature called Sections.

It will make managing the individual parts of the project much easier. Project Crossfire is no longer just one website or one game server. Separate sections are gradually being created for CS2, Minecraft, the website, the community, and other planned parts of the project.

Sections will help us determine:

• which part of the project a feature belongs to
• who can access a particular section
• which roles and permissions should be used
• which information should be visible to a specific team

This will make the overall management of the project clearer and prevent everything from being handled through one large shared system.

First Minecraft plugin tests

We have also completed the first tests of our Minecraft plugin.

For now, we are mainly testing basic features and communication between the Minecraft server, the website, and our API. We need to make sure that the individual systems can connect correctly, retrieve the required information, and work with it securely.

The Minecraft part of the project is still at an early stage, and we do not want to promise a specific release date yet. The important thing is that the first foundation now exists and development is moving in the right direction.

New website background

The website has received a new background that better matches the current style of Project Crossfire.

We wanted to keep the dark appearance of the website while giving it more character of its own. The new background should help connect the individual pages visually and make the entire website feel more consistent.

This is not only a single image replacement. We are also gradually improving other visual elements, spacing, panels, and page layouts.

Admin Control for CS2

Another major feature is our new Admin Control system for CS2.

This system is intended to allow team members to manage a large part of the server and its players from one clear interface.

We gradually want it to handle features such as:

• managing players on the server
• bans and kicks
• information about connected players
• administrative actions
• server commands
• reviewing the history of performed actions

The goal is not to replace every command available directly in the game. Admin Control is mainly intended to simplify situations that are easier to handle through a clear web interface.

A team member will not always need to be connected directly to the server to check certain information or resolve a basic issue.

New styles and an improved login panel

We have also continued improving the website styles.

Some sections received a new appearance, while others were updated to better match the rest of the website. We also prepared new JavaScript for displaying the login panel.

Previously, different pages used several links and methods for opening the login panel. This was not very clear, and some of the older links were no longer working correctly.

We are now working toward a single unified login system. We still need to review the individual pages and make sure that no old or missing links remain.

Removal of broken and duplicate links

As part of the login improvements, we removed a large number of broken, outdated, and duplicate links.

On some pages, the login panel could be opened in several different ways, while other links pointed to parts of the system that were no longer being used.

We are gradually cleaning up the website so that every button has a clear purpose and users are not confused by several different options for the same action.

Modal windows in the shop

We have added new modal windows to our shop.

These can be used to display product details, confirm an action, or select additional options without loading an entirely new page.

This should make the shop faster and easier to use. Modal windows will also allow us to add more features gradually without having to create a separate page for every small action.

Minor shop improvements

The shop has also received several smaller improvements.

This is not a complete redesign yet. The changes mainly affect the layout, the way information is displayed, and preparation for future features.

Over time, we want to improve the product overview, individual product details, and the entire selection and purchasing process.

Clearer linked-account panels

We have also changed how linked-account panels are displayed.

When you have not linked Twitch, YouTube, Steam, or another supported service, its panel will no longer appear in areas intended for accounts that are already connected.

Accounts will continue to be linked exclusively through your account settings. This change only ensures that other parts of the website display panels for services that you have already connected.

This makes the interface clearer and prevents empty or irrelevant panels from being shown.

The CS2 section received plenty of new features and extras

Most of our recent work has focused on the CS2 section.

We are working on our own Core system, administration tools, permissions, player models, weapon skins, and of course our JailBreak plugin.

A large part of this is still in development, but the individual systems are already beginning to connect and work together.

WeaponSkins and AlwaysWeaponSkin

We have added functionality similar to AlwaysWeaponSkin to our new WeaponSkins plugin.

Its purpose is to correctly handle weapon skins and preserve their settings when a player receives, drops, or picks up a weapon belonging to another player.

This is not only about applying one simple skin. The plugin must correctly identify the weapon owner, the selected player settings, and situations where the original appearance of the item should be preserved.

These details are often more technically complicated than they first appear, but we do not want to create a system that only works halfway.

CS2 Loadout in Alpha

The first version of the CS2 Loadout system is also being developed for the website.

In the future, it will allow players to configure the appearance of different weapons, agents, and other supported items directly through the website.

The selected settings will then be applied on servers that support and enable this feature.

The Loadout also includes an early preview system that provides an approximate idea of how the selected setup may look in the game.

It is important to note that this is still an Alpha version. The preview may not perfectly match the final result in CS2, and some features may still change significantly.

For now, the main goal is to create a working foundation that we can continue improving through testing.

JailBreak plugin development continues

Development of our own JailBreak plugin is in full progress.

We are currently at approximately 35%. That may not sound like a very high number, but JailBreak is much more than a few simple commands.

We are working on features such as:

• Warden management
• game modes
• prisoner and guard systems
• stopwatches and timers
• the HUD and in-game information
• integration with our Core system
• administration features
• saving player settings

Yes, a few features are already working, including the stopwatch — whoa XD.

Most of our time is currently being spent on the HUD. We are trying to find the best way to display important information without obstructing gameplay or causing technical issues.

We do not want to quickly assemble the plugin from random features. We would rather progress more slowly and prepare each system so that it can be expanded properly in the future.

Custom models for our servers

We are also working on a player-model system.

We do not want to promise anything specific yet, as we are still testing models, animations, player arms, and their correct use directly in CS2.

However, it currently looks like we may be able to offer a larger collection of custom models that players will not normally see on other servers.

Should everything go according to plan, these will not simply be downloaded models added to the server. We want to gradually create our own selection that matches the style and requirements of Project Crossfire.

Until the system has been properly tested, we do not want to promise an exact number of models or a release date.

What comes next?

During the next development period, we will mainly continue testing the new API, expanding the Banlist, and improving the connection between the website and our game servers.

We also want to continue working on Admin Control, our CS2 plugins, the Minecraft part of the project, and further website improvements.

Not everything is immediately visible from the outside. A large part of our current work happens in the background and creates the foundation for features that we will be able to add later.

This foundation is essential if we want Project Crossfire to remain stable, secure, and ready for further expansion.

Thank you to everyone who follows, tests, and supports the project.
